1.Motion
In this chapter we will discuss about motion or rest with reference to some point known as the origin. Also change in the position give rise to the two quantities. They are distance and displacement and difference between the distance and displacement. Making the use of these concept we will expand the knowledge further to understand the concept of graphs and angular motion.
2.Force and Newton's law of motion.
The three laws of motion help us understand how objects behave when they are standing still, when moving and when forces act upon them. Also the chapter main focus is to understand the terms like forces and impulse of force, inertia , mass and momentum and its conservation.
3.Gravitation and Floatation
Gravity plays a fundamental role not only in the structure of our solar system but also in the way objects behave on Earth. We will discuss topics such as weight, free fall, and ballistics. We will learn the physics of phenomena related to gravity we experience daily and take for granted. Force , thrust or pressure which object experiences when immersed in water are core topics of this section.
4.Work , energy and Power
The concept that helps us understand and interpret many natural phenomena is ‘work’. Closely related to work are energy and power. Energy is the capacity to do some physical activities or work, such as running, jumping, etc., while power is defined as the rate at which the energy is transferred, or the work is completed. In this chapter, we shall study these concepts.
5.Sound
Sound needs a medium to propagate. The matter or material through which sound propagates is called a medium. When particles vibrate about their mean positions, it pushes a region of compressed air, creating a region of high pressure, followed by a region of low pressure as the particle retreats to its mean position. The sound wave propagates by compressions and rarefactions of particles in a medium. Sound propagation can be visualized as the propagation of pressure variations in the medium.
