6.Adjoint and Inverse of Matrices

In this Chapter, we shall learn about finding the inverse of a matrix and solving system of linear equations.

7.Continuity

In this chapter, we shall introduce the idea of continuity of a function at a point and on an interval. The study of continuity of function is based on limits. Continuity of a function on an interval helps us to study holes and jumps in the graph of the function, under consideration.

8.Differentiability

In this Chapter, we shall learn a new concept called differentiability of a function which is an important tool in calculus. Also we will define it’s relationship with continuity.

9.Differentiation – I, II

In this chapter, we shall study the derivatives of different types functions.

10.Differentiation - II

In this chapter, we shall study the method of solving equations which involve trigonometric functions of unknown angles.

11.Rolle’s Theorem and Lagrange’s Theorem

In this chapter, we shall study Rolle’s theorem and Lagrange’s theorem. These theorems would also help us to find a point on a curve where the tangent is horizontal or parallel to some chord of the curve.

12.Rate of Change of Quantities

In this chapter, we shall learn that if y is a derivable function of x, then the rate of change of y w.r.t. x is given by the derivative dy/dx . We shall use this knowledge to find the rate of change of one variable provided the rate of change of another related variable is given.

13.Increasing and Decreasing Functions

In this chapter, we shall study the use of derivative in examining the monotonic behaviour i.e., the increasing and decreasing behaviour of functions.

14.Tangents and Normals

In this chapter, we shall learn about finding the equations of tangent and normal to a given curve at any point on the curve.

15.Approximation by Differentials

In this chapter, we shall learn the method of finding approximate values of functions using differentials. This study would also help us to find approximate measure of relative error and percentage error in dependent variables.

16.Maxima and Minima

In this chapter, we shall learn the concept of derivative to calculate the maximum and minimum values of various functions.

17.Fundamental Integration Formulae

In this chapter, we shall learn a new aspect of calculus known as integral calculus which is nothing but the reverse process of differentiation. In this chapter, we shall confine ourselves to fundamental formulae of integration.

18.Integration by Substitutions

In this chapter, we shall learn about integrating a function which is not in standard form using substitutions.

19.Integration by Parts

In this chapter, we shall learn the method of integration when the integrand is a product of two functions.

20.Integration by Partial Fractions

In this chapter, we shall learn the method of integration by partial fractions. This method will help us to integrate any given rational function.

21.Integration Using Miscellaneous Substitutions

In this chapter, we shall learn the integration of some special kind of functions.

22.Definite Integral as Limit of a Sum

In this chapter, we shall define the definite integral of a function, as the limit of a sum.

23.Definite Integral by Using Indefinite Integrals

In this chapter, we shall study another method of evaluating definite integrals. This method would use the indefinite integral of the concerned definite integral.

24.Area of Bounded Regions Using Definite Integrals

In this chapter, we shall study the evaluation of the areas of bounded regions defined by given functions, we shall also require to draw rough sketches of the given functions.

25.Differential Equations

In this chapter, we shall learn about differential equations, i.e., equations involving independent variables, dependent variables and at least one differential of these variables.

26.Applications of Differential Equations

In this chapter, we shall learn the method of solving various types of practical problems arising in science and engineering by making use of methods of solving differential equations.

28.Scalar Product of Vectors

In this chapter, we shall learn a method of multiplying vectors.

29.Vector Product of Vectors

In this chapter, we shall learn the vector (or cross) product of two vectors. The cross product of two vectors is always a vector quantity.

30.Scalar Triple Product

In this chapter, we shall learn the method of finding a product of given three vectors involving both scalar product and vector product.
