Mathematics IX CBSE

About the Course

Mathematics is a science of numbers, formula of related structures, shapes and spaces in which they are contained and quantities and their changes. In this course of Class 10 mathematics you will learn about most mathematical activities such as deductive reasoning to find or establish the proof of various abstract properties. In this course the treatment and development of the various topics is logical  with simple and lucid explanation. Every chapter begins with a mathematical quotation and a photograph of a renowned mathematician, which motivates the reader and creates interest.

Mathematics is a science of modelling, like this course contains probability which allows you to predict certain and impossible events by the help of several experiments. Overall this course aims to cover the whole spectrum of school providing the known on mathematics covering the learning objectives. This course have tried to provide communicative skills with different range of styles and various discussions followed by different level of Quiz in Analytical and creative manner.

Distinguishing features

    • Fully covers the latest syllabus as prescribed by CBSE.
    • The development of mathematical concept in each chapter is logical and simple and preparation of each new idea is based on the preceding one.
    • Step-Wise working rule approach has been suggested for problem solving and same is followed in Illustrative examples in every chapter
    • Each chapter contains practice tests with multiple tries which provides students with hints to solve the particular question and enhance their level of understanding.
    • At the end of every chapter there is chapter test, which allows students to test their knowledge of particular topic.

    • Student should have different language notice.
    •  use a dictionary or Glossary available in the courses or library to access to difficult term.

Target Audience

    • Who is learning mathematics in class 9th.
    • This course mainly targets the students who wants to study mathematics on deeper level to get better understanding of mathematics.

1.Real Numbers

In this Chapter, we wish to extend the system of rational numbers to that of real numbers by introducing two new types of numbers, viz., non-rational/irrational numbers and real numbers. We shall also learn to represent these new numbers on a number line because it is often useful to exhibit numbers by points on a line to further study the extension of the number systems. This chapter throws light on concept of rationalization and rational exponents with positive real bases.

2.Polynomials

In this Chapter, we shall study about algebraic expressions of special form, to be called polynomials and their related terminology. Besides, we shall also learn various techniques to factorise the polynomials by using known and new algebraic identities as well as two well-known theorems: the Remainder Theorem and the Factor Theorem.

3.Linear Equation in two variables

In this Chapter, we wish to extend our previous knowledge of linear equations in one variable, to linear equations in two variables and their geometric representation and algebraic solutions.

6.Coordinate Geometry

In this chapter, we shall focus on certain basic concepts and the related terminology of Coordinate Geometry.

7.Introduction to Euclid's Geometry

In this Chapter, we shall first present Euclid’s approach to geometry and then shall try to link it with the present-day geometry.

8.Lines and Angles

In this Chapter, we shall study the properties of the angles formed when two lines intersect each other, and also the properties of the angles formed when a line intersects two or more parallel lines at distinct points.

9.Triangles

In this chapter, we shall study in details about the congruence of triangles, various criteria/rules of congruence, some more properties of triangles and inequalities in a triangle. We have already verified most of these properties in earlier classes. Whilst we verified most of these properties in the earlier classes at the upper primary stage, we shall now learn geometric proof of them.

10.Areas of Parallelogram

In this Chapter, we shall have a closer look at the concept of the “area”, of a plane figure using our concept of area in geometry. This will enable us to talk about it and use it in formal geometry in much the same way as we do with the “Length of a line segment”. In the process, we shall be able to consolidate our knowledge about the formulae for finding the areas of different plane figures by studying some relationship between their areas under the condition when they lie on the same base and between the same parallels.

11.Quadrilaterals

In this Chapter, we shall study different types of Quadrilaterals and their properties. The word Quadrilateral is made up of two words quad which means four and the word lateral which means sides.

12.Circles

In this chapter, we shall study about circles and their related terms and some of their properties.

13.Construction

In this Chapter, we propose to consider some basic constructions, including certain kinds of triangles, with reasoning behind their validity.

14.Area of the triangle

In this Chapter, we shall learn how to calculate area of a triangle, using the famous Heron’s Formula and its application in finding the area of a quadrilateral and its special types.

15.Surface Areas and volumes

In this Chapter, we shall learn to find the surface areas and volumes of cuboids and cylinders in details and extend this study to some other solids such as cones and spheres.

16.Statistics

In this Chapter, we propose to study more about data, in all its aspects-presentation and interpretation as also more about a measure of central tendency which give us a rough idea where data points are centered.

17.Probability

In this Chapter, we propose to study about statistical approach of probability called Experimental Probability which aims to find the probability on the bases of observations and collected data.
